Food for thought: I read somewhere that as a rough benchmark, LBS calls about 30% of all applicants for interviews and then accepts about 70% afterwards for final offers... About 85% will accept the offer or defer!

I read this in the following pages, a Chat with a team from London Business School Admissions:

I'm a bit confused. If you haven't gotten an invite for an interview at this point nor a ding what does that mean? For US schools if you don't receive an invite that is effectively a ding but its seems that based on this thread people have been receiving dings explicitly. Anyone have some insight?

The stats you quote have been mentioned by Peter Johnson, who is the admissions head for MiF program and not MBA. Thus, there is a probability that the MBA stats might significantly differ. Just my 2 cents!

You just have to have a balance - if you have little international work but have plenty of domestic you'll be fine.

Quick question...

Has anyone done the LBS MBA Drop-in in London?

What is it like? how long does it last and what do you actually do? i.e. do you get a tour or sit-in in a class or something?

Thanks!

I got my interview invite from LBS, I had a couple of doubts:

1) The Alumnus would have read my application or not? We are supposed to answer with different examples, or can we use the same.

2) The case presentation : it would be only verbal/speech kinds i suppose. Any idea of topics asked frequently?

Thanks!

You get to sit in a MBA presentation, meet current students and tour of the school.

Not sit in class - that needs to be arranged with admissions team separately.

1. Yes. They will have copy of whole application file including essays etc, whether they have read or not, is personal I guess. Most likely someone who graduated in last couple of years and of same nationality as yours.

2. 1 min to read from 5 topics and decide which one you will present on, 5 min to prepare and 5 min to present. Typical ones supply chain outsourcing, London Olympics in 2012 etc.

pm me if you want more info. info comes first hand from a current student who I am friends with!

Thanks for the information! very helpful. I think I might do a drop-in.

were there lots of people? i.e. was it sort of like an interview in that you are alone with adcom staff and students?

What kind of question would the supply chain mgmt one be?

About 15-20 people in the drop-in I attended, so certainly not alone with the adcom and students.

"You have to make a decision whether to outsource manufacturing to Eastern Europe. Discuss what you think about this and provide arguments to support your decision" - something along these lines, not word to word....
