My answer is C.

Can anyone explain why the answer is E?

If we have treated these square bracket merely as square bracket then we, like most of others, will definitely get zero as sum. But these square brackets, in my view, then will be the notation for greatest integer function.
a1 = [-1] = 0
a2 = [1] = 1
..
..
Therefore, answer will be 50 instead.
