1 to 1000 we have one thousand positive integers. We don't require 1 here so remaining integers will be 999.

The number of integers from 2 to 10^3 , inclusive is

(A) 997
(B) 998
(C) 999
(D) 1000
(E) 1001

We can use the following formula:

(last integer in the set - first integer in the set) + 1 = number of integers in the set

(1000 - 2) + 1 = 998 + 1 = 999

Answer: C
