Hi can you explain 2nd option in details on how did you calculate?

Calculating the difference between % contribution of federal govt and private companies, it is highest in 2005
This can be inferred by observing that fact that % contribution by federal govt kept on decreasing and that by private companies kept on increasing
So 1st one is yes

Calculating dollar amount contribution of federal govt in 2005, we get 400 whereas of 2014 it is 406.__
So clearly 2005 did not have highest dollar amount of federal govt.
So 2nd is no

Observing the contribution of international grants, they are always less than private companies and federal govt each year
So 3rd is yes

Hence answer is
Yes

The contribution of federal govt on 2005 is 40%
Total dollar amount is 1000
So dollar amount contribution of federal govt is 40/100×1000=$400

Similarly for 2014, federal govt contribution in 2014 is 28% and total dollar amount is 1450
So dollar amount contributed is 28/100×1450=$406

So 2005 contribution by federal govt is clearly not highest

Statement 1:

In 2005:
Federal Government = 40.0%
Private Companies = 20.0%
Difference = 20.0 percentage points
No other year shows a greater difference.
Answer: Yes

Statement 2:
The federal government contributed the highest dollar amount to university research funding in 2005.
Federal contribution = (% Federal) × (Total Funding)
  • 2005: 40.0% of 1,000 = 400
  • 2006: 39.0% of 1,050 = 409.5
  • 2007: 38.0% of 1,100 = 418
Answer: No

Statement 3:
In every year from 2005 to 2014, international grants contributed the smallest share of total university research funding.
Check each year for the lowest percentage:
  • 2005 to 2009: International Grants = 15–17%, lower than other sources
  • 2010 to 2014: Int’l Grants rise to 18–20%, but University Funds remain fixed at 25%, and the others are higher
In every year, international grants are the smallest.
Answer: Yes
