FALSE

3.For the Asian cities, the median minimum temperature was 12°C.
There are 8 Asian cities and their minimum temps listed in ascending order is: {-3,-3,3,3,21,22,24 and 26}
Median is the average of 4th and 5th terms (in this case 3 and 21) which is 12 degrees
Hence TRUE

1) Yes,Mean of max temperature for cities in South America=29+38+29/3=32
Mean of max temperature for cities in Oceania=25+29/2=27

2)No,All countries which are reporting fine weather have +ve max temperatures

3)Yes,Asian cities have minimum temperature as:26,-3,24,22,21-3,3,3

So rearranging them :

-3,-3,3,3,21,22,24,26 so median is (21+3)/2=12°C

1. The mean maximum temperature for the cities in South America was greater than that for the cities in Oceania.

The mean maximum temperature for the cities in South America : (29+38+29)/3 = 32°C.

The mean maximum temperature for the cities in Oceania: (29+25)/2 = 27.5°C.
;
Thus its clear that the mean max temp for cities of South America is > mean max temp for cities of Oceania.

Answer is Yes.

2. At least one city reporting fine weather had a maximum temperature less than 0°C.
It can be very easily inferred from the passage that no city with a fine weather had a max temp. < 0°C.

Answer No.

3.For the Asian cities, the median minimum temperature was 12°C.
Now arranging the minimum temperature of Asian cities in ascending order we get: -3, -3, 21, 22, 3, 3, 24,26.
Since there are even no. of cities median = (21+3)/2 = 12°C.

Answer Yes.
