However, I have a doubt with respect to D:
" comma + and " starts a new clause that needs to have a subject also. However in this case, ("were first explored in the late 18th century by members of Napoleon’s Egyptian expedition, and have been" ) the option contains "comma+and" without a subject. In my opinion the comma should not have been used before the "and" ..
I Request Experts to give your opinion on this and enlighten me...
