(A) $800 (B)$900
(C) $1050 (D)$1250
(E) $1300 Total fixed expense $$= 250$$ Let variable expense depending on the number of guests attending the party be $$= x$$ For $$10$$ guests the total expense was estimated = Fixed expense + variable expense of $$10$$ guests $$= 250 + x$$ For $$10$$ guests the total expense was estimated to be $$= 650$$ $$250 + x = 650$$ $$x = 650 - 250 = 400$$ For $$10$$ guests variable expense is $$400$$. Therefore for $$20$$ guests variable expense will be twice $$= 800$$ Estimated total expense for $$20$$ guests $$= 250 + 800 = 1050$$ Answer (C)... (A) $800 (B)$900

(E) $1300 Total expense = Fixed Expense + Variable Expense Variable Expense = No of guests*Variable Charges Now, Total expense = Fixed Expense + Variable Expense Or, 650 = 250 + 10*p Or, 10p = 400 Or, p = 40 Quote: What is the estimated total expense for 20 guests? Thus, Expense for 20 persons is Total expense = Fixed Expense + Variable Expense Or, Total expense = 250 + 20*40 Or, Total expense = 1050 Thus, answer will be (C) _________________ Thanks and Regards Abhishek.... (A) $800 (B)$900
(C) $1050 (D)$1250
(E) $1300 We can create the following equation in which x = the cost per guest: 250 + 10x = 650 10x = 400 x = 40 Thus, for 20 guests, the total cost is 250 + 20(40) = 1,050 dollars.
