The three cities of Jubilee, Joy and Jest are all on the same latitude and are spread over only 100 miles on this line. However, the difference in temperature throughout most of the year between Jubilee and Jest on one side and Joy on the other is more than 30 degrees Fahrenheit.

There is temp difference between the cities despite being close to each other. So, an explanation should provide reason behind this which is given by option D that mountains are the reason.

A,B,C and E are all not related to conclusion.

but throughout most year, temperature difference between jubilee and jest on one side and joy on other is more than 30 degree F.

passage only mentioned latitude only and not magnitude. and we are told both the factors have impact on climates. so lets focus on finding that.
