(B) The construction of B is awkward ......, will, it is hoped, enable
(C) & (D) like is not appropriate ....the sentence would mean matter would be like electromagenetic matter
(E) This is also awkward.

"it is of" is appropriate because it refers to the characterestic. So, eliminate choices A & B.
Choice D inappropriately places "has" in reference to the "taste"
Choice E inappropriately places "has" in reference to the "Judgements"
So, C is the best answer.

If you ask specific question on which choice you chose I can explain why that choice is wrong or right.

1) B
hopefully is an adverb and can only modify another adverb, verb or adjective. will is a helping verb or auxilary verb. The actual verb is enable

2) C

Refer to the following link for usage of hopefully
http://www.bartleby.com/64/C003/0160.html

A) is out for wrong usage of hopefully
C) another problem here is the wrong comparision
interaction of gravity waves is compared with electromagnetic waves
D) same problem as that of C)
E) such as means for example. Again a wrong comparision

If B is correct, The sentence should've been: -

in the way electromagnetic waves do, it is hoped, will enable

in the way electromagnetic waves do, will, it is hoped, enable
