Let the wrestlers weight be 7x and 8x
So new weight = 7x+2 and 8x+2
So ratio = (7x+2)/(8x+2)
So for x =1, ratio =9/10
X = 2, ratio = 8/9
Since there is no unique solution the answer should be E
So new weight = 7x+2 and 8x+2
So ratio = (7x+2)/(8x+2)
So for x =1, ratio =9/10
X = 2, ratio = 8/9
Since there is no unique solution the answer should be E

Just pick two examples:
Example 1:
7 and 8 pounds (for a cat fight
)
Adding 2 to each leads to a ratio of 9:10
Example 2:
14 and 16 pounds (for a dog fight
)
Adding 2 to each leads to a ratio of 16:18, which is the same as 8/9
But 9/10 is not the same as 16/18 (or 8/9), meaning we cant know the answer for sure
