I second what bb stated. I would actually limit my notes as much as possible. The only time that I ever found notes to be useful was when the RC subject matter included scientific or technical terms.
One of the things that I found most helfpul with RC is to try to focus on "big picture" as you are reading. What is the main idea? Why did the author write this? What is his opinion about the subject matter? What are the different viewpoints expressed in the passage? (you can find these by cue words such as however, on the other hand, additionally, ironically, etc.) The supporting details are not as important and are typically easy to find once you get to the questions. There are very few questions that ask about supporting details and for those that do, the answer is usually given verbatim in the passage. (almost verbatim, you can usually find a synonym to help you find the anwer)
I hope this helps. In all my practice tests I only got 1 RC question wrong! RC was my strongest of all areas and all I did is what I wrote above!

Ah.... Don't circle underline or do anything like that on the OG. Use scratch paper for all notes or otherwise it is going to cost you.

There are a few strategies to follow for RC but they are the same for regardless of the media.
