Has anyone's application status changed to "under review" or something similar confirming they are in for Round 2? All I received was the automated email when I submitted which confirms submission but not the round. Thanks all

Maybe you are over 1800 words by one or two words
Or maybe you submitted a color transcript without backpage

I bet one of them forgot a key role in their freshman summer internship - "Took orders, served coffee - oh no, I forgot PREPARED coffee! Insta-ding!"

I kid because half the people in this topic are too paranoid for their own good.

I don't know much more than you ...... But here's what I do know: chill out...... People on this board need to stop stressing over their mistakes - it's done, it's over ..... But feel free not to trust me and stress out - that's your prerogative :)

Cheers.

Dear Rogue,

Thank you for your note. However, I would like to make a couple of points here.

First, there is a difference between making an inadvertant mistake and having no other option but to do what one did. Having said that, I think it is important to let the adcom know the issue - Imagine their surprise when they check the transcript and it does NOT talk about the Diploma? And then ...... they will start thinking!!! And the last thing that u want to make the adcom do, is to make them think because in most cases, it would be negative. It is not that they are negative people as such but having interacted with thousands of applicants, they do come across many mis-informations or wrong claims, so to speak! It is always better to let them know facts.

During my Booth application, I had made the mistake of missing out a couple of data-points in my extra-curriculars. I called them up and the lady who answered my phone, actually made the edits on my application herself! The fact that I did well on my Booth application, only shows that they didn't mind my requesting them to make those changes!

Second, I totally agree with you that one should not stress out and chill-out. But then what part of my post made you think that I was stressed-out? Believe me, I (and most on the forum I am sure) have been in far-far more stressful situations. But then, it is always better to clear one's mind, isn't it? And aren't these forums meant to do precisely that??? Help each other so as to keep ourselves informed???

My main reason for asking this query was to know whether anyone else was in my shoes, especially in rd1, and if so, what action did they take, and if possible, the acom's response!

Once again, thank you for taking the time to reply to my query ..... and yes, I have every reason to trust you and NO reason to NOT do so, right? Although, I am sure that your advice is more suited to those applicants who actually are stressing out!

Take care and best of luck with the application process.

Warm regards,
Sam

Hi guys,

Just one small query. In the education section, I have mentioned a course of mine in which I was awarded a "certificate". The guidelines specifically said that in case one has not got a degree, the field should be left blank. However, when I tried to submit the appl. It wouldn't allow me to since that one degree field was left blank. In the end, per force, I had to add some diploma or something in order to fill the blank. Moreover, since all this happened in the last few minutes, I couldn't even mention this in the addl info section.

Anyone else who had a similar experience? Should I call the ad com? Or since the transcript clearly shows the "certificate", I should let it be?

Thoughts please.

Thanks,
Sam

yeah it can't hurt to send an email. better not to have something appear sketchy.

Woah tgtivyleague, take a chill pill. The very fact that you wrote a doctoral dissertation over rogue310's comments shows that you actually are as stressed out and bogged down as he says.

@hello212

Thank you for letting me know that I am stressed and bogged down - I didnt realise that!!!! Also, it is really surprising that you chose to save my quote but not the quote that rogue had written! And where IS that rogue's post btw? If he/she had written a decent post, why did he/she delete it? Neither did I delete mine nor do I intend to. Thanks for "quoting" it anyways!

What you call a dissertation is nothing but a piece of advice to Rogue ( Now to you too and everyone else in your shoes) - When someone has asked a query, either reply with an answer OR mind your business. You are NOBODY to judge someone else's stress level.

I took 10mins of my schedule to just Rogue know the facts, lest he/she not understand what I wrote and why I wrote! But it looks that some of you here are highly opinionated and want to unnecessarily waste your time in others' affairs ... yes? Please do not indulge in these things. If nothing esle, it is highly irritating!

Take care,
Sam

If I wanna quit my job and chill out until fall, will it affect the Stanford application that is under review? Or should I wait until I hear a decision from them?
At least wait till after the interview...
and then again you have Kellogg in the bag.

Dear doverbeach,

Thanks for your mail. I did call them up and the lady said that it was good of me to bring it to their notice. There may be a glitch in their system and they will rectify it for the next round. She asked me to mail her the exact details so that she could match it up to my application!

EXACTLY my point - If someone has taken the pain of asking something, either answer or ignore the question! nobody has asked you to come in and be a judge here! Good that atleast somebody understood the crux!

@m397,

I dont think that it will negatively affect your Stanford appl. Since you are atleast going to Kellogg, so you know for sure that you won't be re-applying, and hence there is no risk.

As a matter of fact, this might be a good way of letting your interviewer know, through your justification of the "I am currently unemployed" part that you have already cleared Kellogg (and that you are a strong applicant!!!! ;)) Also, in the interview, you can always let them know that your intenion is/was to take some time off to travel to some new location, or catch up on some hobby or maybe even meet some old friends, before you get into the MBA grind.
I am sure they will appreciate your honest remarks.

Best of luck,
Sam

Tgt - dude, my post is still above. Right where it was. I'm not deleting it. Hell, I'm proud of it. You took it way too personally and didn't try to understand the subtext, but please go ahead and email the admissions office or do whatever you need to do.

Doverbeach - I'm not insulting or condescending to anyone who doesn't try to twist my comment that way. I am in fact providing the best advice possible: do not stick out in the mind of the admissions office as that guy. Your application is over; the likelihood that anyone is ACTUALLY editing it, regardless of what they say on the phone, is infinitesimally small. I worked in the admissions office at my undergrad and let me assure you when you have 20k+ applicants and 100 18-year old kids are calling asking you to edit their application you don't argue, you just say sure and hang up.

Of course, b-school could be different! For tgt's sake, I hope it is. But I'm making a recommendation that people not get so freaked out by frankly small issues that they will call you about *if* they care.

My last post on this - good luck & congrats in advance to those who get in.
