yeah, the entire pool goes "under review" at once. not quite sure how that makes sense.

Absolutely, especially when you think your entire future is at stake! It is a nerve racking period. The key, i guess, is to find something else to occupy your time (apart from hitting refresh on the application pages!)

I have five forum pages open (Duke, Yale, Stanford, Haas,Ross) and hit refresh on all of them periodically.
When can we expect invites? Stanford frustratingly gives out no information at all.

Expect invites up to 1 week before the decision day for the round. Stanford does not have a specific day for when invites start coming out. They'll get here if and when they get here.
Since Stanford is such a hard nut to crack it's probably best not to hover over your email in anticipation. Besides interviews are with alums in your area so it's not like applicants have to plan to travel halfway across the world.
