what is normally the minimum GMAT score that Stanford accommodates? how imptnt is the GMAT score as far as the applications are concerned. Though the website says they don't have any minimum requirement... it is pretty evident that 99.99% of the ones applying have nothing less than say 690(which is also rare)... 720..760... etc.

BTW... anyone from R2 got an invite?

Minimum for Stanford is 760. Is you are below 760, forget it. :-D

Charu123: According to the Stanford website the GMAT range is 530 to 790. I have a few friends who have been accepted by Stanford with a GMAT score of less than 700. They are looking for exceptional individuals, and yes, having a good GMAT score does help. But it is not the be all and end all of their requirements. If you have strong work experience, extra curriculars and are innovative and unique, you still have a chance!

This is what Stanford website says.
"Self-report your scores on the Application Form. These are the scores we will consider in our initial evaluation of your application.

If you do not have your official scores, list the unofficial scores.
If your AWA (Analytical Writing Assessment) score is not available, enter zeros. We will retrieve these scores directly from Pearson VUE or ETS."

I am not sure if you can wait till the interview invite to report the official scores. Better safe than sorry..

It's only $20 to send it in, just get it done. Not worth the tension.

There is a batch process these schools do once a week on the GMAT scores to poll for the names of the applicants, or maybe they get the scores once a week from Pearson (something along those lines). So basically you score is with the school for 5 years, and they choose to look for it or not.. Things might have changed now, but one thing is for sure, even if you submit your score to the school and Pearson reports that they have sent your score to the school, the admissions person might not have seen the official report until they run the 'query' , hence they ask for the unofficial report.

Sent it as one of my free ones when I took the GMAT. They'll get it when they get it.

ok, thanks for the input. i thought it wouldn't matter since it would be ridiculous for anyone to lie about it.

i guess i'll send it (even though $20 is a racket. i would've sent it to stanford while testing if i knew my score before being able to choose schools).

There is no danger in sending your score to schools because of part of the application whatever your score is, you will have to report it
(Test 1 , 2 or 3...). Schools only look at the official scores when you apply. I doubt if they are scouring a daily report. I wrote my GMAT 4 years ago, so they would have had access to the scores for 4 years.
$20 is a racket, I like the way med school admissions are set up, you pay once and write one set of essays, apply to schools and the schools then ask you for secondary essays if they want to , then invite you to interviews. Then again, their process goes on for the whole year.

Hey Dover,

Are u sure that the invites will start today? Didn't read about any such info.

Also, is anyone aware about the invite procedure? I mean, are the interviews sent once in a day at a particular time, like in Booth? Or are they sent multiple times in a day randomly, such as at Wharton?

What about the days? Once or twice a week on any specific day or random again?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Sam
