Man, this waiting process sucks. I really wish they'd just let you know if you're in or not like a week or two after your interview... would be so freakin' nice...

I decided that I'm just going to mail Admissions a check for a couple grand with the words "Tuition Deposit 2k12" written in the memo field. If they cash it, I'll know I'm in.

(I'm not actually going to do this)

Had my interview today on grounds. Was interviewed by a second year student.

It was really relaxed, conversational and friendly, with the interviewer giving me the go ahead to talk about anything in my life that I thought was important to mention. I spoke for about 30 min, with him interjecting occasionally with clarification/follow up questions. Then we spent another 20 min chatting about Darden and his experience there, with me taking the lead on asking questions.

The whole interview lasted 50 min approx, and I came away feeling really good about Darden. C'ville is a beautiful place, and the people seem really friendly and genuinely happy to be there.

Now the wait begins! Dec 21 seems a long way off. :)

Since all of the Darden admitted students are interviewed, as Darden says, can we assume that if someone hasn't received an interview invite means he/she is either waitlisted or denied.

During my interview, the adcom told me that your profile is reviewed separately by a second year student and an adcom member, and both give a recommendation to interview or not. If both say "yes" then you go immediately to interview. If there is disagreement, then it goes to committee to decide. She didn't say anything about what happens when both say "no", but I'd guess it's safe to assume that means you're going into WL or denied. Don't give up hope yet, your app could still be in committee, and they say the blog says that they send out interview invites all throughout December up until the deadline!

Thanks mpg2011, LionsSBC12 and reach2bhush for your encouraging notes. I did send a thank you note to my interviewer and was pleasantly surprised when she responded with something along the lines of "it was a pleasure to learn about you as well".. Not that its indicative of whether she liked me or not in any way, but just that it gave me "warm fuzzies" (haha) that an interviewer actually took time out to respond to a silly thank you note. Speaks to the Darden culture I guess..

And now the wait begins.. I have truly done all I can in my control..

Any consortium applicants hear anything back this week? I am getting fairly nervous as I submitted my application on November 15.

Did anyone else get a thank you note response? I didn't. Hope that's not a bad sign.

I sent a thank you note to my interviewer as well, and received a reponse a few days after I sent it. I guess they are really busy...I actually emailed both my Darden and Duke interviewers and received both response...guess it isn't a bad thing...!

My interviewer replied on the same day wishing me good luck and saying that the chat was great.

I don't think it means much though.

I had my interview with an AdCom member in her office. It's a good gesture to send a thank you note afterwards no matter what. Fingers crossed now. 21 more days!

My interviewer replied and said "I hope that our paths cross again."
I think she meant it as a nice friendly greeting, but I thought it sounded a little too much like "I hope you will re-apply next year."

I didn't get a reply from my Cornell interviewer, and in general I really don't think the reply or lack-thereof has any bearing on whether or not any of us will be accepted.
