Invited to interview!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats Etreus. I saw your post on the CBS thread too. Did you get invited to interview at both CBS and Booth on the same day?

I received my invite Thursday morning and selected the off-campus option (I've already visited Booth). I got my alumni interviewer's information Friday morning and sent him an e-mail to set the interview up...I haven't heard back from him!! Freaking out, I know I'm supposed to contact Booth if the alumni doesn't get back to me within 2 business days (was in the off-campus instructions), but I'm freaking out!! Any suggestions?

^Dude, take a deep breath!

It's Saturday and it says to wait 2 business days. If he hasn't responded by Tuesday morning, just shoot admissions an e-mail and they will get you contact information for another alum.

Good luck to you all and congrats to those who were invited this week - I guess I will have to wait until Wednesday to find out my fate for Booth.....fingers crossed.

Seems like most of people who were invited have GMAT score of 700+.....

it seems like that.
+20 points or 2-3 additional points in a section make a difference as I see.

Sometimes I feel that AdComs worry more about the GMAT score (which is included in calculations for most of ratings)
than in the content of the essays (which are not included in any rating).

I wish !

I just think there are too many factors at play. I've given up trying to guess really.

Still waiting for a call... hoping.... :(

After attending many Booth events and talking to the admission officers and alumni, I got the impression that they're looking for the wow factor that can really differentiate a candidate from the others who have "typical" backgrounds.....at least that was what they said they look for in Asian regions - or who knows - maybe that's what every school says to the candidates and prospective students. Hopefully they'll be able to see my potential and find my wow factor, rather than worry more about my GMAT score. :)

My 2 cents here

IMHO - Booth has released very few invites from Nov 2. I think people who have not been invited are panicking, but there is not much to panic about. - as per my calculations, it seems around 10-15 people got invites every day among GMATClub applicants (starting from Nov 2), a far lower average number compared to previous years applications.

In the past when Booth released invites over a period of 2 weeks, it released a significant amount of invites in the beginning, another peak in the middle and then finally things tapered off at the end.

Comparing the past events to the present, I feel that Booth has really not released the huge chunk of invites that we have been waiting for.

I could be wrong, but I think this coming week will see a significant rise in incoming invites.

Assuming that they won't be sending out invites on weekends, I guess the last 3 days we'll see significant invites.....hopefully I can get it also :-D

Invited to interview!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats Etreus. I saw your post on the CBS thread too. Did you get invited to interview at both CBS and Booth on the same day?

Yes! And I saw them two at the same time!! After dinner, it was amazing!!

@ goodbywboy, both invites arrived before 2 pm. Don t think there will be any new during the weekend.

I will quote my old post to second what Aviroop has mentioned
tgtivyleague
Hi,

I have been lucky enough to get an invite. If anyone has any queries wrt the invite/status, please feel free to ask.

What I have been able to gather/analyse from this forum is that wef 02 Nov, a few invites are being dished out every day. So there are still a lot of invites to go. Plus, please remember that the BIGGEST chunk will be released on 09 Nov. So, you guys do not need to worry at all, really.

We (self and a few others) were just lucky to have our applications on the top of the pile. All of you have got your applications wayyyy below in that pile. Just a matter of time before they read your one and quickly dish out an interview invite to you. Just be patient and relax!

I know its not easy, but please keep yoursleves busy and try NOT to think about the interview all the time! I tried!

Best,
Sam

However, my only divergence is in

With just three days to the D-Day, I feel 9th would have the largest byte size of interviews.

Hang in there guys and try to enjoy the Sunday !! :)
