Thanks Conrad, I had misinterpreted something you said elsewhere about the Interview Day.

Are you able to share any statistics about roughly what proportion of applicants are given an intervew, and what proportion of people who are interviewed are given an offer?

We typically invite about 30% of applicants to interview but in this round, there were a lot of strong candidates so there was a higher percentage.

In your requirements Page, the requirements for Two references has been noted as 1)A supervisor referee and
2)A peer referee

My Questions
1. Can I provide a Supervisor referee and a Client referee as my references.
2. Does it any way dimishish my chances of admission if I dont provide a peer referee.

We ask for a supervisor and a peer reference to get a better understanding of how you work in a professional environment. Peer references are vital in that regard. We have made exceptions for candidates who have had difficulties obtaining a reference because of work sensitivities. In those cases, our preference is for someone who had worked with you before but may not be in the company now, or a client reference.

Hi,

I am from India and I plan on applying to the Judge Business School Class 2013

My Profile:

GMAT - 630 (V-32 Q-44 AWA-4.5)
Years of work ex : 10+yrs
Industry: Media & Entertainment (Advertising Sales) - India
Age: 33 yrs

I have a query for the Cambridge Admissions Team:

For Judge Business School students, I see that the Current class average is 690 & even the Mid 80% are 640-740. Given that usually there is a strong correlation between the accepted students' and the above two figures, do you think I should go ahead and apply with my current score or retake the GMAT in January and apply for the next round. Would I be at a disadvantage if I apply in the next round. I am ready with my application and can submit it by November 16th, 2012 deadline.

I would suggest you retake the GMAT because, as you have pointed out, your score is below the 20th percentile of the class. Of course, we have some students with that GMAT in the class but if you have the chance to retake it, then it would only help and not detract from the application.

Thanks Conrad for the quick response.

I would be working to re-take my GMAT but the earliest I reckon I would be able to re-take it is by January end which would push my application into Round 4 applications. Would that leave me at any disadvantage?

Hi,

I am currently working in New York(for a Wall Street firm as a consultant Project Manager for Derivatives and FX trading systems) since last 7 years and I plan on applying to the Judge Business School.

My Profile:

GMAT - 710 (V-38 Q-49 AWA-5.5); TOEFL - 112 (R-29, W-29, L-28, S-26)
Bachelors - Electrical Engineering
Certificate in Business from Columbia University with 3.78 GPA
Years of work ex : 10+yrs
Industry: Banking, Finance & Capital Markets (IT Project Management) - UK (London) and US (New York)
Age: 34 yrs

I have a concern regarding my age and the fact that I come from over-represented group of Indian Male with IT Background, please can you advise how much positive or negative my chances are at Cambridge Judge ? Thanx for your time.

Sorry for the delay in replying, I missed the notification email.

I can't comment on the suitability of individual cases, but my advice to everyone is to think about what you hope to get out of an MBA, whether you could do what you want to do without an MBA. If it is a career transition that you are looking for, then find someone in the target industry and ask them if an MBA would make the difference in your suitability.

I am a university student from Canada and my school uses a 4.33 GPA scale.
My understanding is each school has its own specific scales. I am wondering what is the proper way of converting my GPA to one that is comparable and appropriate for Cambridge? Is there a guideline somewhere?

You don't have to convert to at 4.0 scale. Just report your GPA as it is, and we will refer to a table that the University uses to assess international qualifications.

Hi Conrad,

Thank you for the prompt reply. I am wondering then, is there a ball park or are there general rules I can apply as a guide, on a % or letter grade basis, to see if I meet an average or minimum requirement? I see most MBA schools disclose a "3.5 GPA" average or minimum requirement, but I have now idea how that is applied to me. Any insight is appreciated!
