they did ask people if they needed pencils or calculators... but i didn't pay attention if anyone got one.

a lurker here...
they offer a basic calculator in the stats waiver. I would suggest that you follow the topic list to a T and you should be good. Also as per my experience they are quite liberal in teh grading...do show your work in the paper! good luck!

Yes...majority were word problems.

BTW...hows everyone doing...its been quite here lately...did anyone from waitlist get a confirmed spot? or do they move people from the waitlist only during r3 decesions?

i would say they are mostly word problems...

Hey Jinj, you mentioned previously that they tested Permutation / Combination problems? Just asking cause I didn't see it in the stats wavier PDF.

permutations and combinations are very common in probability questions.
e.g. what's the probability of picking 2 blue balls out of 5 blue and 5 red balls...

Hi Everyone,

Part time lurker and first time poster on this forum. I turned in my EWMBA application last night at 11:30pm and was surprised to see an interview invite in my email at 3pm. I have a low gmat score and wasn't even expecting an interview call..at least not that fast.

Does anyone know what percentage of applicants are invited for interviews?

yea the binomial probability function and expected means are tested on multiple questions... should definitely learn its applications.

This stats waiver prep has taken longer than I expected. I have been doing it for the past 3 weeks now. Hopefully, I'll clear it next week.
Do the questions contain the words 'uniform probability distribution', 'binomial function', 'normal', etc or is it left to us to figure out the correct one? I am comfortable solving these individually at the end of a chapter (Anderson Sweeney book) but I get confused when I have to figure out which prob distribution to use?

Apologies for converting this into a stats discussion forum but I guess thats the only hot topic for now, atleast till May 10. We'll resume the venting soon after :D

Yes, the website asks you to dress in professional business attire -

"The interview is held on campus at the Haas School of Business in Berkeley, California. The interview is approximately 30 minutes long and will be with a member of the Admissions Committee. Please bring photo identification (passport or driver's license) with you for check-in. You do not need to bring your resume as the interviewer will have reviewed your resume and will have a copy. Please come dressed in professional business attire."
