Can't believe that the long, arduous app process is officially done. Got the confirmation from HBS a little after noon.

Anyone else find themselves nitpicking their essay up to the last minute? Amazing how you never truly feel "done."

yes absolutely. and not just the essay.

Slightly strange situation here, but I guess all's well that ends well.

I did not receive any 'confirmation' email that my application was in for Round 2. But adcom replied to my email query about this and told me that there's no confirmation email, and the fact that I was able to 'submit' means that I am in for R2. My application was submitted a little late. I'm mainly posting this in case there's any other souls who are swimming in the pools of doubt like I was about not receiving any confirmation emails (yet).

Cheers.

Unlike other schools I've applied to, there was no confirmation email at the moment of submission. Yesterday after the deadline, however, I received a "Welcome to HBS Round 2!" email acknowledging I'm in the round 2 pool. I'm assuming that's something that's automatically generated to everybody - perhaps you should check your junk mail folder or promotions tab if you use gmail.

FROM HBS Admissions Blog: Round Two...What happens next?
Now that the adrenaline rush of getting the application submitted has passed, you may be wondering what happens next. Here's the plan:

We will send out interview invitations in two waves, January 29th and February 5th. The invitation will be an email from Harvard Business School. Nothing will happen on any dates before, after, or in between!

On February 5th, we will also notify all Round Two applicants who are not moving forward in our process that they have been released.

There will be detailed instructions about interview dates, locations, and the sign-up process in the interview invitation.

Interviews will take place on campus between February 13th and 28th. We'll also be in the following hub cities: Mumbai, Dubai, Shanghai, London, Paris, New York City, and Palo Alto, CA. We don't have definite dates for hub city interviews yet - we will by the time interview invitations are sent. Candidates unable to travel to interview will be able to arrange for Skype interviews.

That's all for now.

I have finally submitted my application. It is such a relief. I have a decent gpa from a state school and excellent managerial work experience in a small business. My essay was the best i could do and i am satisfied. now hope HBS calls me for an interview.

Yes, I too got this email the next day.

Good luck to everyone in for R2! Hope to hear back from HBS on Jan 29th now... :)

Just got the confirmation email for R2. Let the waiting begin !

Just got the confirmation too.

I know waiting is hard, but try not to make worrying about business school an extracurricular activity! ~ Dee Leopold

Haha indeed. I'm a college senior so actually have exams till Jan 29th anyway as a distraction from all this ;)

HBS calls recommenders?

They only call to confirm after you get accepted and choose to matriculate. They use a employment verification service that checks with recommenders as well. I believe nobody will call your reccomenders unless you get accepted and matriculate.

asymmetric - congrats on the acceptances to HBS, Wharton, and Sloan. Clearly an outstanding outcome from your R1 apps.

Would you mind sharing your profile with us anxious R2ers?
