I just noticed that three people from the "Greater Boston Area" visited my LinkedIn profile yesterday. Not to sound crazy but I think that these might be members of HBS ad com's (Cambridge is considered greater boston area on LinkedIn) because there really isn't any reason for someone from the outer boston region to visit my profile (based in SF, all my clients and contacts are here). Anyone else notice this?

In any way, if it's true, I find it pretty interesting that adcom's are viewing candidates LinkedIn profiles...

If I am not wrong, just one adcom member is responsible to evaluate and admit/ding you. So it seems improbable that three different adcom members are going to waste their time looking at details about the same applicant. (Unless the one adcom who is evaluating has doubts about the credibility of the applicant's resume and is asking others to have a look too) Just my pov.

And to be clear, HBS is in Boston, not Cambridge. It is on the Boston side of the river from the rest of the university...

ysabelle - that could be a good sign. During last year's R3, I had a linkedin view from "Director of Admissions" at another program. I was eventually waitlisted and then denied, so it certainly doesn't guarantee good news, but it's extremely likely that more schools look at peoples profiles all around the web (facebook, twitter, etc as well). Also, whenever I get someone with those privacy settings it tells me "from the greater ________ area" which indeed includes the city itself. I wouldn't read into the difference between that and just Boston or Cambridge.

Anywho, just wanted to throw in my 2 cents :)

Not surprised about the LinkedIn views at all. I was admitted in R1 and I've had direct evidence the AdCom also viewed my blog and linked in to me and my application - I can't be sure if this was before or after I was admitted, but if it was after it was very soon after.
