It seems few people have been inviteded, doesn't it? In the Gmat Club, just seven, and in the Beat the GMAT, I guess just two. Obviously, there are many people who don't visit these forums, but I remember that in R1 more people in these forums said that they were invited.
Also, I have the feeling that they invite according to the location of the hub cities. What do you think?
It seems that way, but the easiest way to do it would be to compare across the last 3 years or so. I did some quick calculations using the threads from 2010-2013. Took the # of reported applicants here on GMAT Club for R2 and the reported interviews out of that number. Make of them what you will. See the attached file.
Looking back over the data, there isn't a clear pattern in whether R1 percentages hold up in R2. For the classes of 2015 and 2014, there was a big difference. For 2015, the percentage was the same between rounds. For class of 2014, it was 10% R2 vs 19% R1. The previous year, R2 had 49% interview while R1 only had 17%.
