I think you should be getting that email from Harrison as soon as they prep your application for review. Maybe they just haven't got to yours yet.

In fact I also got two emails, but the second was just as the first, adding that due to a technical problem my name was skipped in the salutation of the former

Nothing like your mail. Hope to get it soon :?

I assume that once they start preparing your application, you get one mail, and once it is ready for review, you get the second.

Hm, interesting. I already sent all my official stuff in (GMAT + transcript), so I wonder if I will get that second email at all...

Hi rajiv1984,

I got an email from admissions today, it indicates next steps, important dates and ways to keep in touch, but it nothing about transcripts for interviews...

Here's the email, see the second paragraph.

Dear xxx,

Thank you for submitting your application for admission to the Berkeley MBA Program at the Haas School of Business. Your file is now ready for review by the admissions committee.

While we currently have sufficient documentation to review your application, please note that if you are invited to interview, you will be required to immediately submit official academic records issued by your school if you have not yet done so.

Please do not send materials now - we will let you know when we need them.

If you have questions, please contact us by replying to this e-mail or by calling us at (510) 642-1405. Please note that application decisions for complete files will be released on the response dates specified on the application form.

Best,

Harrison Cheng
Admissions Advisor

I only got the first email saying they are preparing my file, not the second email saying my file was ready for review. I just logged into my account and it shows application status (received). Does it say anything different for those of you that got the 2nd email?

Thanks!

This is interesting...

I submitted my application on 10/14, received email #2 you are referring to on 10/15, and received email #1 on 10/22. I did not open email #2 until just now since the sender was not Haas, but an admissions specialist (too many junk emails, haha) - same content as everyone who's received email #2 so far. My application status says under review. My guess is that you will get the email once your application is under review.

Hope this helps!

Thanks kmc123! My application status is not under review yet, but I wonder if this has anything to do with submitting official versus unofficial transcripts. I did notice that Haas was one of the only schools that required official transcripts to be submitted. It may also have to do with the fact that my second recommendation was a few hours late so they may get to my application later.

Oh well, fingers crossed!

I actually haven't submitted any official transcripts since the requirement will be dependent on getting an interview. It sounds like this is based on when all your application materials are in. All my recs were submitted well before the deadline (I'm the procrastinator :)), so maybe that's why it moved to under review quicker. I like that Haas updates the status. Not that it makes anything faster, but at least you know where you application is in the pipeline.

My app just changed to under review and I got an email from Lee Forgue saying it was ready for review.
Yes, it's going to be a long month! I guess Haas's timelines are a little later than other schools.

My application status still says "received", too.

@Paradox60, the automated email we received upon submission said "Interviews are by invitation only. Interview invitations will be extended beginning in November up until the Round One decision notification date. Invites will be communicated by email."

So many they could possibly start sending them out tomorrow (?!)

Haas is the last of my applications from Round 1. The combined tension from going to 'under review' added to my other applications is pretty unbearable. Hoping for a quick turnaround, but more than that a positive result!
