Guys, for the essays, does the online application allow us to submit more words than what is recommended? I am slightly over the limit and am not able to bring it down. I can ofcourse enter and save 250++ words for the essay but I am not sure if it will go through. Has anyone submitted with more than 250 and see it going through?

Does anyone know what time of day on the 16th the application needs to be submitted by? I couldn't find the info on their website. Thanks!

At an online chat session, a Berkeley rep said that going over the word limit by 5% is fine (someone said they were struggling with length, and the rep offered that percentage up themselves). With that guideline, the 250 word maxes could go up to 262, and the 750 could go up to 787.

Finally submitted for round 1! Now I just need to badger my two recommenders to finish their stuff...neither has submitted yet =/ Good luck everyone!

Sorry can't help you on formatting. I think they expect it to look bad.... But, how do you prevent this from being a complete rehash from your resume?

I can't be of much help either. But, if you are really struggling with it you can probably put extra space/tabs etc. to make it legible or mail/call the adcom to confirm. I won't worry too much about it.
