Dear Linda,
Could you please give some feedback on my profile and my list of schools.
I'm 30 years old Russian male with pharmaceutical education (top 4 university in Russia) and 6 years experience in healthcare market research (major international agency). My last position was client service director. Since last year I have been staying in USA (study English, prepare for GMAT, take some volunteering); so, now I work only part time for my former employer (exclusive contract). Will this fact harm my chances?
GPA 3.8
GMAT 710 (Q50, V38, AWA 4.0 IR 6)
I have rather limited Extra-curricular activities - some positions in university community and occasional volunteering.
Short term goal -development manager/ new product development manager at an international pharm.company
List of schools.
Strech - Duke, Stern
Reach - UCLA, Daren, IESE, UNC
Safe - EMORY, Olin at Washington University.
Are 8 schools too much? Would you recommed making my list shorter?
Thank you.
Andrey
Good work!. I pretty much agree with you. I don't think I would classify Olin as a safety. You may want to consider Johns Hopkins as your safety. If you are applying over two rounds, 8 schools isn't too much. Apply to the ones you are moss interested in R1 and if accepted, you won't need to apply to any R2.
