Not sure if this is where I ask a question like this, but...

Am I rejected? I never even got an interview after applying R2... and have heard no updates whatsoever. This is really quite shocking to me seeing as I am local and very competitive GMAT (740) / GPA (3.6) from a great school. I'm extremely bummed out about this because this was one of my top choices.

I should say I applied really close to the R2 deadline, but I doubt that matters at this point. So bummed out...

I'm in the same boat as you. Short answer: 99+% rejected.

What's your work experience? That's the much bigger question

Either way, I'm not feeling great about my own chances. I thought the interview went pretty well, enough to put me near the top of the pile, but my interview was on Feb 9 and I haven't heard back yet. Chances that they haven't made a decision on my application by now are slim.

My very unscientific theory is that the "strong" applicants (however you quantify that) were the first to get invites, following which the adcom divides us into piles of definite yeses and maybes. The yeses get admitted in the early waves, while the maybes get compared to the rest of the maybes. They probably need to wait till more people are interviewed to do this kind of a comparison, so I'm guessing that's why people who interviewed early might not have heard back yet.

My take back from this? There's no guessing. Compared to the rest of the maybes, you might be a star but it all depends on who you're competing against. Factor in which country/industry/whatever you're from and who Anderson needs for a diverse class, it becomes even more unpredictable. So while I'd probably feel the same if I were you, you never know until you know right? I think your chances are as good as anyones. Hope for the best and steel yourself for the worst. At least, that's what I'm doing :)

Hey Trivium, I interviewed the day after you and I thought my interview went really well! But, I still haven't heard back from my interviewer after my "Thank You" email. Did you hear back from your interviewer?

Thanks FurrowedBrow for your analysis...

I'm just trying to see where I might be, which pile my future lies within.

Here's my timeline:
1/20 - Interview Invite Received
2/10 - Interviewed On Campus
2/12 - Application marked "complete"; however, I had to alert admissions that they hadn't received my official grad school transcript.
2/20 - Application finally updated with all official transcripts listed (I'm wondering if I was pulled from consideration in the early rounds due to the transcript delay.)

I really just want to move on... Am I uprooting my life for B-school or is all hope lost? This waiting and opacity is agony.
I'm not really sure there's any method to the madness. We're both in education and were invited around the same time, so maybe they're moving to the piles by industry. With an early February interview, I honestly think our chances at this point are slim. But I wouldn't rule it out altogether.

I did hear back from my interviewer, by the way. She didn't give me her email address through Skype, so I had to Google it. The message I got back was not reassuring: "Thank you for your interest in UCLA Anderson."

Wow, that's awesome. Good luck for the interview!

But for the rest of us, I hope it means that not enough people paid the deposit for Round 1 and not that they've dinged too many of us who interviewed already :P

FROM NewsUCLA: Another batch of early Round 2 decisions
Hi everyone!  My apologies for the delay in writing this blog post...we've been super busy as we approach the Round 2 decision release day next Thursday. As many of you know, we released another batch of early decisions last week.  Those who received an early decision were notified via email to check their status on ApplyYourself, and admitted students received congratulatory phone calls the day before decisions went out.

All remaining decisions will be released on April 2nd, with admit calls taking place the day before as we've been doing all year.

Once the Round 2 decision release day passes, we'll take a little break from file reading to focus on other projects as well as admit events, but rest assured we'll get right back to evaluating files as soon as we hit our Round 3 deadline.

Best of luck to all our applicants and thanks for sticking with me and this blog throughout your application journey!  Please let us know if you if you have any questions by commenting or sending us an email.

Have the two rounds of early decisions included rejections, or solely early admits? I interviewed 2/17 and still am waiting on a decision.

Looking back at the comments from the early R2 admits,
it seems like they were notified of their scholarship/fellowship offer during the call.
I guess I did not get any...
My admit letter also did not mention anything about financial aid.
Can early admits who got scholarship/fellowship offers confirm this?

I can confirm that they told me about a Fellowship over the phone, and then I got a separate email with fellowship details apart from the standard acceptance email.

Same here, fellowship was confirmed on the phone and on the following day, I received two back to back emails, one was the acceptance email and the other was concerning my fellowship. Admitted on March 3rd R2.

I also received a large envelope in the mail two days ago which contained my formal letter of acceptance, letter of fellowship, and some UCLA Anderson literature. :-D

Congrats to all the new admits!!

I was admitted during the second wave of early decisions last week - no mention was made of any scholarship over the phone. However, I just received an email this morning offering a scholarship. So I guess for some people the scholarship offer can come afterwards...

As far as I can tell, at least based on what I've seen here on GMAT Club, all the early decisions have been admits. But the way the blog post is worded makes me think otherwise. But in any case, if you haven't heard so far, it's probably a good thing. At least it's not a rejection! Less than a week now for the final decision to go out. :horror

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting for a decision. For those of you who end up in the frustrating position of being on the waitlist, I have good news. I did an analysis of the waitlist acceptance rates for top schools and Anderson's waitlist acceptance rate is about twice as high as average.

I found this post from 2011 that is making me feel more optimistic. Surely there should be plenty of admit calls on April 1? I could obsess over what % of round 2 admits have already received decisions, but perhaps it's better just to chill, soak up some sun, and wait until April 1 :-D

Good luck to everyone else still waiting on a decision.

UCLA Anderson Releases a 2nd Batch of Early Round 2 MBA Admits
March 23, 2011 at 1:46pm
Dear Round 2 Applicants:

This morning, the UCLA MBA Admissions Committee released a second batch of early decisions to subset of Round 2 applicants. Members of the Committee are emailing and calling each new admit to welcome him or her to our community. Look for the final and official Round 2 decision release next week, on March 30.

As stated before, please note that there is no order to the release of decisions. If you did not hear from us today, you are still under consideration for admission.

We look forward to meeting some of our new admits at our upcoming preview weekend, Anderson Days II, on 9-10 April 11.
