I'm from Wisconsin in the US and chose a phone interview with Adcom. I live about 1,000 miles from KF and I had already visited campus. The phone call was great and I didn't sense any disappointment that I had elected to have a phone interview. I was never even asked why I was unable to come for an in-person interview.
I got an admit call this past Friday, so I guess they didn't mind!
