Hi all ,
After studying irregularly for last several months i gave gmat yesterday and scored 670 Q48 V35 IR 1

I must say this is much above my any of the mock scores i gave till today.
here are my mock scores -
mgmat - 600, 610,620,610
kaplan -630
veritas -650,580,590
gmat prep - 600,640
gmatprep (unistall and retake)- 650 , 570 (1 nov 2015)
Quant score range in mocks - 44-48
Verbal score range in mocks - 24-32
After seeing 570 on gmat prep mock after re-installing i lost all the heart. I just left thinking about exam and outcome. also left studying.
Two weeks before my test i could not study much due to heavy workload at office.
I had joined e-gmat verbal online which helped me to improve my verbal skills however i did not utilize this course properly.I solved just 60 questions out of 750 in their scholarnium.
In my mocks the max.verbal score i saw was 32 on
mgmat mock. and on gmat prep mock on 1 st novemeber verbal score was only 24.
So frankly speaking i was very surprised when i saw V35 on submitting the test.
V 35 is highest score i have seen till now in my preparation and fortunately it was on test day :D
here are resources that i left incomplete during my preparation-
OG 13 and OG review quant - solved only 50 questions (PS+DS)
OG 13 verbal - SC finished once but did not review properly
CR - finished once but did not review properly
RC - solved around 30 questions , remaining unsolved
OG 13 verbal review - SC - solved around 40 questions , not reviewed
CR - solved around 60 questions and reviewed
RC - Solved around 20 questions no review
Magoosh - 300 questions unsolved in quant , 250 questions unsolved in verbal
E-gmat - around 700 questions unsolved in scholaranium
also i have around 10-12 unsolved mocks from veritas ,
mgmat , gmatprep 3 and 4 (49$), kaplan combined
Test day experience -
As i already said i had left hopes from this exam around 2 weeks before my test date and was ready to see any of the 4xx,5xx figure.
AWA went well . But i could not solve a single question in IR , my IR score is 1 i.e. 0%.
Quant - i solved this section pretty in haste, i did not spend more than 3 mints on any question. still i think i could have done better. I did not studied much for quant just solved 4-5
gmat club tests. They are damn good. I m gonna utilize them in my re-attempt.
Verbal - I spent 20 mints for first 10 questions but i was not very confident through out this entire section. Later i paced up. Used strategies suggested by e-gmat in RC and SC. In CR my accuracy was hopeless in mocks. But on test day i found CR questions pretty simplified and less complicated than those were in mocks. One RC totally went above my head. after reading first para of RC i understood i can not do this , i hastily read remaining para's took notes and solved every question on that in less than 20 seconds. Overall , my verbal experience was almost same as mocks (i would say rather more nervous and of less confidence )When i submitted i was ready for any figure 4xx,5xx etc as i had already left hopes. However 670 gave me a surprise.
E-gmat changed my attitude towards verbal section a lot. I wish i could have practiced more from their scholarnium. Gonna exhaust question bank in that tool in next attempt.
I would say this attempt has given me a new hope and confidence that i can score 700+.
I am going to appear for exam in couple of months.
I would say thanks to gmat club for all the help.
Any suggestions on how i should study for next attempt? In this attempt i lacked focus on official questions. kept solving random questions on internet and when test day came closer i killed myself by pressure.
Any B-schools i can target with this score ? My profile is very ordinary. IT Indian , 4.5 years work ex. nothing outstanding done in last 24 years of my life
Apologies for any typo
Thanks again
