Hi adityadon,

To start, a 670/Q48 is a strong score (it's above the 80th percentile overall), so it could very well be enough to get you into Business School. By extension, retaking the GMAT might not be necessary.

From your post, it sounds like you're not sure what Schools to apply to, so here are some things to think about:

1) Is there a particular company that you want to work for or industry that you want to work in? Certain degrees are more appropriate than others if you have a specific career goal.
2) What do you want your MBA to do for you?
3) Do you want to go to School full-time or part-time?
4) Are you willing to relocate? Are you comfortable with working through a program that is primarily online?
5) Are you going to be applying for scholarships?
Etc.

Once you've determined what type of Program you want to attend (as well as the other variables involved), then you can start to research and narrow down the possibilities.

Hi Rich ,

Thanks a lot for your response.
I wanted to retake gmat because i dont think this was my best attempt. I have left bunch of incomplete material before my first attempt and it is tempting me to go back and give exam again.
Please find below answers to your questions

1) Is there a particular company that you want to work for or industry that you want to work in? Certain degrees are more appropriate than others if you have a specific career goal. - I am not stubborn on changing industry. I am ready to work again in IT post mba but with a good pay.
2) What do you want your MBA to do for you? - My current salary is pretty poor even considering indian market. I would like to do an mba probably in general management or information management. I am not interested doing mba in finance as i have almost no knowledge of that industry.
3) Do you want to go to School full-time or part-time? - I would like to join a full time program one year or two year. I am working from past 4.5 years and pretty much frustrated with my current employer and job. badly need a break.
4) Are you willing to relocate? Are you comfortable with working through a program that is primarily online? - Yes i am willing to relocate. Rather my preference would be mba from outside india. Preferance order as of now i have in my mind is - singapore, US, Canada . I am not looking for any online mba program
5) Are you going to be applying for scholarships? - YEAH , i need atleast 50% of scholarship when i get an admit from school outside india. I would also like to mention that i am not stubbron on top 30-40 colleges. I am ready to lower down my college choices if scholarship can be received.

Here are my few questions-
1) R2 is just month away. should i give a try to atleast couple of colleges in US - preferably whose average gmat is below my gmat score.
2) Is there any chance of getting scholarship with 670 as i am from Indian IT male - the doomed category ?
3) Also my IR SCORE IS 1 i.e. 0% - can it break my admission chances?
4) if i decide to retake gmat, what should be ideal time to give ? within 1 month , 2 month etc.

Sorry in case of any typo.

Thanks

Hi adityadon,

You've defined some of the things that you're looking for, which is good. You're ultimately asking Admissions questions though, so you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:
