Hi expert!
I cannot understand why this particular answer
the answer goes way to far in the conclusion in concluding that:
1) self sacrifice = selfish
it is true that
2) Self sacrifice = feeling of pleasure
but concluding that
3) feeling of pleasure = selfish
is not a GMAT conclusion and going out of scope
we need sentence (3) in order to answer D to be be correct

what do you say?

A, B and C are obviously out of scope. In E - I think, we are simply not given any information about nucleus accumbens of selfish people

I feel all options are incorrect.
Here, we are assuming that all selfish acts are done for the feeling of pleasure .

Need experts advice.
Thank you.

I agree with you yoavyes. Choice D sounds ackward. I don't understand the logic of this choice. On the other hand E can be eliminated, because we have no information about selfish people in detail as such provided by the passage.

I believe A is the right option

If people are more charitable -->they will feel pleasure.Stands true for all cases.

We don't have any information about what is exactly "Selfish"-->it is subjective (depends on person to person).
