Hi Jeff,
I'm not sure I understand the shortcut. Can you explain why we can do this? Thanks!

Prime factorization of 12600 = 2^3*3^2*5^2*7

Thought the biggest number (which would have the smallest power) is 7, let's find the number of powers of the prime factors 7 & 5 in 50!

for 7,

50/7 + 50/49 = 7 + 1 = 8 => 7^8

for 5,

50/5 + 50/25 = 10 + 2 = 12 => 5^12

There's a 5^2 & 7^1 in 12600 so 6 powers of 12600 are possible in 50!
