Hi,

I have recently given a Princeton Review CAT and scored 690 (Q48, V38).
How accurate is this score?
My exam is on 23rd Marcha, will I be able to score 700+ in the main exam?

Please help!!

You can definitely score 700+! Try taking an official GMATPrep exam, that should accurately project your scores. All the best for your exam! :)

Hi ronit1894,

The scoring algorithm on the Official GMAT is far more complicated than most people realize. Since that algorithm is proprietary, no GMAT company has an exact match for it, thus CAT scores can vary a bit based on the 'biases' involved in their respective designs. How many CATs have you taken besides this one (and how did you score on each - including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)? In addition, did you take the FULL CAT each time (with the Essay and IR sections)?

Hi Rich,

I had given two more exams [Princeton only] before this where is Scored:
1st : 670 [Q48, V36]
2nd: 680 [Q43, V41]
And the 3rd one was this one 690 [Q48, V38].

I Skipped the IR but attempted the AWA.

Hi ronit1894,

Since all 3 of your CATs were from the same company - AND you skipped the IR section each time - there is certainly a question about how accurate these scores really are (and by extension, how you would score on the Official GMAT if you took it tomorrow). As such, I strongly recommend that you take one of the Official GMAT CATs and take it in a realistic fashion (take the FULL CAT - with the Essay and IR sections, take it away from your home, at the same time of day as when you'll take the Official GMAT, etc.). Once you have that score, you should report back here. Once we have that result, we can discuss how best to proceed.
