Thanks Chris for the reply.

I have not yet started quants.

Would you suggest that I first complete quants and then assess myself on a CAT?

Posted from my mobile device

There are some providers that offer Verbal only CATs (e.g. Gmatclub), that could give you an early indication.
However, a full length CAT is always paramoung with regards to its score implications.

Most people recommend to "safe" the full length CATs until you are familiar with Quant and Verbal concepts.
This has two major benefits:

1. The score you receive in the respective CAT is a more realistic image of your current abilities.
2. You can identify potential weaknesses, rather than just attributing wrong answers to beeing unfamiliar with the respective concept.

Best regards,
Chris

People generally suggest that you cast a wide scope when you first begin studying. Go from concept to concept and familiarize yourself with the material. You can follow one of the suggested study plans on the forum if you want.

I suggest the Manhattan SC guide. I found their CR guide useful as well.

There's a post on the forum about a list of SC questions for building questions. Just google "gmatclub 100 sentence correction building concepts" and it should come up.
