A digital wristwatch was set accurately at 8.30 am and then lost 2 seconds every 5 minutes. What time was indicated on the watch at 6.30 pm of the same day, if the watch operated continuously until that time?

(A)5:56
(B)5:58
(C)6:00
(D)6:23
(E)6:26

8:30 am -> 6:30 pm = 10 hrs

lost 2 seconds in 5 minutes
60 mins = 24 sec

10 hrs = 240 secs

60 secs = 1 min
240 secs = 4 min

6:30 - 4 mins = 6:26

In 5 Min 2 secs lost
In 1 Hour 24 secs lost

So, \((18.30 - 8.30 )*24 = 240\) secs or, 4 Min

So, The time displayed is 6:30 - 4 = 6:26 Pm, Answer must be (E)
