Thank you for the guidance. I'm new to this site so still navigating my way through.

As I don't have any internship experience throughout my under-graduation (was doing a professional course alongside) so I think that maybe some work exp. will improve my competitiveness. Thanks for the advice on volunteering, will keep it in mind :)

Hi.

I can potentially offer some advice here, I was provisionally admitted to the MIF.

I had an internship at a big Investment Bank in the UK (think GS, MS, JPM), as a Corporate Analyst - this has done me well in all applications as experience and a topic of conversation, and HEC did ask numerous questions about it. I also had a couple of months as a teaching assistant in Statistics and Probability for first and second year students at my university. Finally, had a couple of years as a part-time database administrator (excel guy, basically) in a couple of local companies.

Hope that helps!

No problem! Should have made clear also that I'm in my final year of University, so no full-time post-college experience at all. That hasn't affected my applications one bit.

Good luck :)

Hi,

I just got rejected from Round 2 HEC Paris MIF and was trying to find a weak spot so I can improve for further applications. Some background on me:

GMAT: 740 (Q49,V41)
GPA: 3.8 /4.0
Undergraduate University: An average university in the US (not a target for IB recruiting)
Internship Experience: 2 years including IB, Valuation, Risk, etc ; Most notable company is a BIG 4
Full-time experience: Null as I am still in my last semester at undergrad
I really enjoyed writing my essays and thought they were decent.

Did not having any full-time experience cost me the application? Any help on identifying weak spots would be helpful.
