Statement 1:  Insufficient. We need to know the quantity of paint used in the guest room only then can we calculate the gallons of paint that will be used in the living room.

Statement 2 : Insufficient. We know the quantity of paint used in the guest room but to calculate the gallons of paint that will be used in the living room a relation between 2 rooms is needed.

Together they are sufficient to calculate the gallons of paint that will be used in the living room.

Given:    \frac{White}{Blue} = \frac{2}{3} : 2 = 2 : 6  --> (total units = 8)

statement 1:   L.R = 2 (B.R) , but there is no given value for the B.R gallons --> insufficient

statement 2:   B.R = 4 , white for B.R =  \frac{2*4}{8} = 1  gallon, but no given info related to the L.R --> insufficient

Combining 1 & 2:   white for L.R = 2*1 = 2 -->  sufficient
