Hi there,
I'm looking to apply for a B-School this year and I am facing the detours of my next move right now. Hope your advice could help me with the decision.
Prelim Background:
Age:26
GMAT: 650 (Plan to retake, believe that my range should be around 680-700)
GPA: 3.05
Undergraduate Degree: Economics (one of the most prestigious university in Thailand, Rank 1st in my subject)
Professional Certification: CFA Charterholders,
WE: 1.5 Yr as a Credit Modeling Analyst (Large Bank), 1.5 Yr as an Investment Banking Analyst (Internal Rotation)
2 Yr as a Senior Associate, Investment Banking (Medium Bank)
My job role is now Senior Associate (Working all the time during live deals) and I have to lead major roles and responsibility for many projects at a time. I am feeling that I cannot focus on MBA at all, so I would decide soon on which paths I should go next.
Here are my alternatives:
1.) To not create any gaps prior to submitting the application, I am considering to quit my job and take the non-degree or an extension school at US such as UCLA Extension, UCB Extension and etc. I think that during my time at school maybe I could achieve a higher GMAT score and spend more time on essays, application and etc. Plan to take additional quantitative courses at extension school to offset my bad GPA / Quant Subjects as well.
2.) Quit a job and go straight to study only till apply for B-School. This alternate is my least favourite (Could possibly harm my application as well?)
3.) Try to talk with my Boss and may take less responsibility and workload. (Not sure on this one yet) Done everything at the same time (Study, Work, Application) if I couldn't negotiate, will quit after receive too much of workload again.
Thanks!!!
