Dinged. Applied with 700 GMAT. I am the world's youngest CEO of a publicly listed company ever and still got dinged.
I think this year is extremely surprising.

I will go for the EMBA as I am too old (36 years old) to reapply for the next cycle and I don’t think it is going to change the decision. I do agree that I am more suited for the EMBA looking at my profile, experience and age.

But I will most likely defer the start of the EMBA program by 1 year due to the current covid situation where a lot of the networking sessions are non-existent at the moment. Far from ideal for the EMBA experience at the moment. So it makes more sense to defer it for now.

Are you gonna go for it? Or do you want to reapply for the next intake?

Did anyone get the rejected email from their AO but signed by the global director Virginie?

Me. But I was asked for my application to be transferred for the EMBA program in the message sent by Virginie on behalf of the adcom team.

Got dinged. Applied without GMAT. Background: Merchant navy with 10 years experience with a good career progression and international experience. This is not the end of the world. There is always a plan B. All the best to everyone :-)

The numbers of dings seems significantly higher than those of previous rounds/years... This probably means that the usual ~60% success rate from interviews to offer may not hold

Posted from my mobile device

Or quite the opposite as they may have only invited specific candidates to add to the diversity of the class. Someone shared on here that they might be looking for certain profiles as many people deferred and will be starting in January. Perhaps they were so selective with the interviews that the success rate could be higher (or lower)? We shall see in about a month. What I wonder is what R3 and R4 are going to look like. No one here is planning on applying to R3?

dinged too by JM.

Guess I'm going to LBS then.

What happened to the rest of the schools you applied to?

Sorry about the ding. I’m not sure how old you are but if you are in your early to mid twenties then you could be on the *younger* end for admission to INSEAD, which has an average age that’s a couple years older than top U.S. business schools. Your GMAT score is a little low for INSEAD. Are you confident that a 700 is your highest possible score? If you are applying from Mexico, you don’t come from an underrepresented demographic (especially if you are male). It might differentiate you to try to get your score up 10-20 before a possible reapp.

The good news is that if you are young, you still have time to reapply without looking “passed up” or “too tenured.” Strategic positioning will make or break your re-app. It’s not clear what you focused on in your essays, but you probably shouldn’t dwell too much on your age and your CEO title. There are so many essays in the INSEAD app (it’s perhaps the longest and most comprehensive business school apps for the top tier), they are really trying to assess multi-dimensionality and likelihood to contribute in business and the community and to INSEAD as an alum after school.

If talking about your strategic positioning with an admissions consultant and getting quick review of your INSEAD strategy might be helpful, feel free to sign up for a free consultation here: https://admissionado.com/free-consultat ... sultation/

How long should one wait to hear back from alumni for scheduling interviews? I emailed both my interviewers two days ago and haven’t heard back. I’m kind of in a little bit of rush, as I’m traveling for business from July 8 onwards.

Maybe follow up thru text message or WASAP (not sure if they use that)? One of mine didn’t get my email (it had gone to spam) so it was good that I followed up. There should be plenty of time to get it done this week. Good luck!

Thank you for your response. Has anyone been in a situation where you can’t find any info on your interviewer? I can’t find one of my interviewer on LinkedIn or anywhere else. Don’t really like the idea of going to interview without actually knowing anything about the interviewer.

Hello,

My recommender submitted the recommendations last evening, however, neither of us has received confirmation. My application portal says ‘pending’ too. Anyone else faced this issue?

Thanks

Thanks for your detailed response. I have just turned 23. I graduated from college in March 2017. I also hold a Part-Time Masters degree from Indian School of Business (ISB). I know i'm very young compared to their average age.
I did not take any help from any consultant or friend whilst writing my essays to both INSEAD & LBS. Currently Waitlisted at LBS in R4 for 2022 admit.

Hi All! technical question on dashboard filling - in the Exam Results section, should I include my previous GMAT scores that I cancelled?
The instruction is "report all VALID scores", but INSEAD anyways ask for GMAT score report in Other Documents section, and all cancelled scores are there as "C" with clear indication of dates exams were taken. Did anybody have such a dilemma?
