Hi all,
Just got a rejection letter from my AO but the email was signed by the global director. Anyone have a similar situation? Felt like an automated message to be honest.
I’m from an underrepresented country, applied without GMAT/GRE but was really confident about my profile. I also didn’t apply anywhere else as I feel insead was the most ‘me’ and most ‘international’.

Seems to be a very weird outcome for everyone.

Sorry to hear about this. Yes, better things are awaiting for you. You have a strong profile. INSEAD is the only college I applied for the same reasons.

I got an email saying the following in summary:

We can neither accept nor reject you since you didn't submit your GMAT scores. Go do it and share with us the score then we will tell you the reapplication process without redoing it from scratch. What does that mean? Is there even a hope to share with them my GMAT score when I do it next month? It doesn't look like they will consider me for Jan though.

I received a similar response.

I had a strong and unique profile but a low GMAT (exam was pushed back because of covid). Scheduled to write within the month.

I'm not sad. But I'm not thrilled either. I need to think about this.

Me. But I was asked for my application to be transferred for the EMBA program in the message sent by Virginie on behalf of the adcom team.

I also got email from Global Director
Looking at your profile and a lot of others I feel everyone was very competent !
I had patents and papers and a masters in the USA along with 7 years
I have 200 people reporting to me but I guess Indian candidates are very good and all the candidates are similar or better ! So cannot compare !

I think R3 will be competitive as well. Lots of people still can't get their American visas as of now, so I am thinking they will probably apply to INSEAD.

Got a ding from EL. Said I need to improve my gmat score and reapply. Seems odd considering some folks got interview invites w/o a gmat score.

Dinged. I thought that I had an extremely strong profile but an okayish GMAT of 680. I have a US-based UG and masters including 9.5 years of international experience in US and Canada, managing 550M+ and 82 employees. My applications and essays were also reviewed by former INSEAD alums and admission committee members. But I bet that the fact that I am Indian probably went against me - I guess I will never know.

I did get the rejected email from their EL but signed by the global director Virginie.

Interesting that she mentioned that. Because in my email EL said that:

"Given the confidential nature of the Admissions process, I am unable to give you any clear indication as to what elements in your file might have contributed to this decision. It is against INSEAD policy to disclose any information regarding the Admissions Committee’s decision."

So in a way, that is a violation of INSEAD policy if I am understanding it correctly. Anyway, it hardly matters now. I am sorry to hear about your application dude. Do get that GMAT up and hopefully you will get in next year. Good thing that you know about this weakness. It will help you.

Yea. I think we won't hear anything from her tonight. I will email her tomorrow morning though its the weekend so I don't know how soon she will revert. All prepared to get dinged but not knowing is killing me!!
