Ans D:
In this sentence ...

Logistic is a noun
Logistical is an adjective.
Hi DinoPen,

That's not quite the case. Logistic can also function as an adjective (with the same meaning as logistical). Both logistic challenges and logistical challenges sound fine to me.

Also, here is the official question that this question is based on.

Dear Friends,

Here is a detailed explanation to this question-

MahmoudFawzy
To formulate more efficient business plans, operations officers need to understand quite a bit more than currently about the practical and logistical exigencies of production.

A) need to understand quite a bit more than currently about the practical and logistical

B) need to understand quite a bit more than they currently do about the practical and logistic

C) would need to understand quite a bit more than they do currently about the practical and logistics

D) would need to understand quite a bit more than they currently do about the practical and logistical

E) would need to understand quite a bit more than currently about the practical and logistical

Choice A: This answer choice breaks parallelism between the future tense verb "to formulate" and the present tense verb "need to". This answer choice also incorrectly compares the verb phrase "need to understand" with the adjective "currently". Thus, this answer choice is incorrect.

Choice B: This answer choice repeats the parallelism error found in Option A. Thus, this answer choice is incorrect.

Choice C: This answer choice fails to maintain parallelism between the words "practical" and "logistics", as the former is an adjective and the latter is a noun; remember, words and phrases that are joined by conjunction must be parallel. Thus, this answer choice is incorrect.

Choice D: This answer choice maintains proper parallelism, comparison, and tense use throughout the sentence. Thus, this answer choice is correct.

Choice E: This answer choice repeats the comparison error found in Option A. Thus, this answer choice is incorrect.

Hence, D is the best answer choice.

All the best!
