This is another good example of Relative speed.
Their relative speed is 5 - 3 = 2 ms
The distance between them is 36 meters.
We have Speed and Distance, we only need to find time.
T=36/2 = 18 seconds.

from given info we can say
relative speed = 5-3 ; 2 m/s
and relative time; 36/2 ; 18 sec
so Nicky would have run ; 18+36/3 ; 18+12 ; 30 seconds
