A. Driver's education classes can benefit adults as well as younger drivers. : 180' opposite as the road safety advocate emphasizes on Young folks.

B. Teenagers who enroll in a driver's education class for at least 12 hours are, on average, 20% less likely to be involved in a serious accident than those who take no driver's education class. CBI

C. Young drivers are significantly more likely to be involved in a serious accident than adults who have at least 10 years of driving experience. CBI

D. Careless teenagers will not simply choose to drive without a valid driver's license. In line with the topic, this is the missing information/assumption that completes the logic.

E. The requirements of most driver's education classes are not so difficult as to make it unreasonably difficult to pass the class. CBI

3. Driver's education courses should be mandatory for those under 21 years of age, but optional for those above 21 years of age.

The answer is 'both agree', but I disagree with that.

There's nothing in the blurb that allows us to infer what the stance of the Advocate for Young People's Rights are.

Official Explanation

2. Consider each statement. Select Most Supports for the statement that, if true, most supports the position of the Advocate for Young People's Rights and select Most Weakens for the statement that, if true, most weakens the argument made by the Advocate. Make one selection in each column.

Explanation

Most Supports: D
Most Weakens: B

Solutions: Answer choice B directly weakens the argument by providing a concrete reason why those drivers under 21 are specifically targeted. And answer choice D directly strengthens the argument by playing into the idea that all new drivers should be treated the same regardless of age. Beware trap answer A, which is actually consistent with a claim that the Young People’s Advocate concedes in her argument. Because A does not add new information specific to whether young people, specifically, should be targeted, it neither strengthens nor weakens the argument.

Official Explanation

3. Consider each of the following statements. In each column, select Both Agree if it is a statement that both parties would agree with and select Otherwise if it is a statement that they do not agree with.

A. Both agree
B. Otherwise
C. Both agree

Solutions:

A – Both Agree. Both parties agree that customers are not buying full albums because of their option to only purchase the songs that they want to hear. Accordingly, both are willing to admit that if consumers consider a song “filler”, they will not purchase it.

B – Otherwise. The industry representative mentions that artists are not taking risks, but the consumer advocate is clear that she feels that the songs not being purchased are “filler” specifically created by the recording industry to drive up album prices.

C – Both agree. Both parties admit that the number of songs being purchased has dramatically decreased, and while each party has its own explanation for which songs (recording rep say “creative risks”; consumer advocate says “filler”) will no longer be produced, both agree that fewer songs per artist will be produced.

Even I had the same issue and picked up a different answer, when I got to know that it's incorrect, started choosing other answers and chose the correct answer last :(

Can you please help me with second part of Q3? "All operators of motor vehicles should have a valid driver's license, including those over 21 years of age." In second statement, there is no discussion of one should have license, can you tell me how can we infer out of it?
