Hi everyone,

I'm 26 yo, with some 3-4 years of work experience. I consider applying to Rotterdam School of Management for a Master's degree in Sept 2021. I am specifically interested in CEMS and Strategic Management programmes.

As a career path, management consulting and strategy are my priorities.

Here comes my dilemma: MSc Strategic Management is a better match to my interests and skills, however CEMS seems to be a more prestigious and renowned programme.

Is there someone who has a better view on this: does CEMS really have an edge for being more prestigious? Is it worth it?

I would appreciate your opinions.

Thank you,
Dan

I would give you different advice. You are 26 now. You can wait for 2 years and take MBA and you can get into consulting too. You target RSM MBA 1 year and save your money for valuable degree. If you were younger, I would advise you to do MSC in consulting. But you are kinda in this middle.

Good luck

Good point. I acknowledge this.

The thing is that I am at this point in life when I desperately need changes - I live in Eastern Europe and I want to move to Western Europe. It appears that my current education (BSc degree from a small French uni) does not allow me to get into consulting in Western Europe, therefore I decided that I need a MSc degree from a top university this time. I think it's sort of okay to do a MSc degree when I will turn 27 already. Not perfect, but okay.

I simply don't want to wait 2-4 more years for an MBA, and honestly I would love to be sponsored (which my current company doesn't do) :)

Btw, what MSc in consulting do you mean? MSc Organisational Change & Consulting at RSM?

Cheers. I appreciate your post.

Hi DanCretu1752

I understand your point to do MSc. and yes, I meant MSc Organisational Change & Consulting at RSM. You can visit Deloitte building in Rotterdam. It is big building in Rotterdam. :D

You can think of MBA when you are around 31 after you are seasoned in business.

Good luck
