Hey guys!
I'm a bit of frequent here with posts like this haha. I just took my final practice exam and scored a 720 (Q48, V41). It was the second Official Gmat Prep exam so that has me feeling a little confident. I wanted to ask a pretty general question. A good friend of mine who just took the actual GMAT and scored a 710 told me that he usually finishes the quant section with 5 minutes to spare and the verbal with 10 minutes to spare.
However, on my practice tests I almost always find myself scrambling for time at the last 6 or so questions of each section and using the "Guess one, attempt next, guess one, attempt next". Strategy. Do the majority of people who achieved 700+ scores finish each section with time to spare?
Also, now that I'm in the final week any recommendations? My exam is this coming Saturday. I haven't studied IR yet so I'm going to this week but aside from that should I actively be studying quant and verbal or just reviewing at this point?

It depends and differs for each individual. At the same time, it also depends on the questions you are getting, which in turn is the result of your performance in the first few questions. In case you're answering too many correctly back to back, you'll get difficult questions in the middle and it will take more time to pass through. In such cases, the weightage for final 6 questions reduces because you're already at a sound position.
Further, with only few days to your exam, I'd not recommend you to change your strategy as that will be a certain setback for you. Just be perfect at what you've been doing. I'll also not recommend you to leave IR totally, that's important.

Regarding timing, I would not say that most people who score 700+ on the GMAT complete the quant section with time to spare, so I would not really worry about that. Regarding your situation, if you find that you need to improve your timing, here is a helpful article:

Regarding what you can do in the final week, I would not do a ton in the next few days. Keep your studying light. Review flashcards/notes from past topics to ensure knowledge has not slipped through the cracks. I also would not try to cram or learn any new material. At this point, piling on new topics would probably hurt more than it would help.
I wrote an article that you may find helpful that has some more advice regarding how to treat the final week leading up to your GMAT as well as some tips for test day.
