Controversial topics in Current affairs like - Farm Bills / Protests , Donald Trump ‘s permanent removal from Twitter , etc . You can also expect discussion on recent issues / updates in connection with your profile . You will not have a straightforward topic- it would be one which is controversial and polarising , where there can be extremely divergent views . Be prepared to defend your stand but at the same time not be stuck in a corner . Hope this helps!

You can also go to the interview debriefs page and select IIM (All schools) to see IIM related interview debriefs. There are a lot of extempore topics mentioned as part of the debrief. Let me know if you have any difficulty finding them.

PGPX extempore is an interesting ice breaker. Mine was "Should politics be left to the politicians"

I had an option of going for the next topic, but that would have been a blind date. So I went ahead with this one.

Does knowing in advance helps? Yes and No. Yes, to ease the nerves. No, because things play out differently during interviews.

I actually came to know about the previous years extempore topics, an hour before my interview. LOL.

The whole idea is to get to know you better and see if you can survive the extreme views you will encounter during the stint at the college.
