Point -wise replies: -
1.What happens if my internet connection goes down during HOME GMAT ?
You should have redundant and dependable internet connection. Electricity supply should also be good.
2.Does the exam get rescheduled? In case it does get rescheduled, when can I take it up next? This is because I am planning to take the test this month and my B-school application round would close soon after that!
In case your exam is interupted because of your internet connection, you need to take this matter to the proctor and his decision may affect your schedule. You may reschedule GMAT by paying fees again anyways.
3.Is it then way safer to take the GMAT from an official GMAT test center?
Yes. In case, you are not sure about electricity and internet connections at your home.
4.What happens in case the internet at the test center fluctuates? Do I get to write a new test just on the same day(or within 2-3days atleast )?
I hope this will not happen. I have not heard about any such case.
5. Do I need any kind of writing material/rough book in case I take the test from a test center?
They will provide you writing pad and sketch pens but may vary with test centre.

If you go for the Online, consider keeping a spare marker next to your eraser just in case. Also take precautions to stop anyone from walking into your room during the exam. Perhaps place a "Exam in Progress!" note outside your door.

If the test centre has a power cut or any such problem, you will get a voucher that will allow you to book another test.

This happened to a student recently. He used the voucher for the Online GMAT instead of another test centre booking.

You had a home test disruption or a test center disruption?

Or did they cancel your test ahead of time because of a test center problem?

I took it at the test center. I had no problems during the verbal and DI, but on the quant, after I pressed next on the first two questions, the screen froze and they had to restart computer twice. At the end of the test, they gave me a protocol stating that they reported the problem to the GMAT. I'm afraid they'll cancel my score because of this, but it wasn't my fault; it was a connection issue at the test center.

Do you want to keep your score? If so, you likely can. Usually they cancel the score if you push for a re-take but in my experience if you had a bumpy test and still got a high score or score you like enough, then they won't bother since the security was not breached and the testing accuracy was perhaps compromised to an extent since you were subject to additional stress.

That's true. 605 is 70th percentile, so it is worth hanging on to and since scores are not reported anyway together, not a bad thing to have and hopefully you can improve upon.

You should not have an issue with keeping it as long as you don't raise a ticket, so I would not raise any questions and most likely (not guaranteed) it will stick.
If you don't hear anything within 2 weeks, it is 99% going to stay.

Are you planning to retake? If you are, consider including/sharing your score report. You could also mention any areas/issues you feel may be currently holding you back (e.g. CR).

Yes, I plann to retake in the begining of december, so I'll have time enought to apply for R2. My worst area now is Quant (77). DI and Verbal are "okay". In the future I will share my progress with you all

Just be prepared to do a ridiculous amount of things for the at home test. The person asked me to put sheets on all my book cases. It took about an hour just to get started.
