GMAT online price is increasing by $25The GMAT Online is increasing in price to $275 on Sept 19th.
This change only impacts the online version of the test which has been kept at $250. The in-person GMAT Registration fee has gone up to $275 last year.
Nothing super crazy but inflation seems to be hitting GMAT as well and ultimately the online version of the test is catching with the in-person one.
You have to register before the 19th to be eligible for the current price of $250. Note that a local tax will likely be tucked on to that amount though that depends on each individual country.
This seems to be more or less an expected price hike for the online test version to be on par with the in-person one. I can imagine that since the online test is providing by a whole different company than the in-person tests, the distribution of $$ has been sort of unfairly tilted towards examity vs. Pearson unless of course Pearson is the middle man in the examity relationship. I would not be too surprised if they were and the platform switch did not actually remove Pearson completely from the picture. If anyone has an idea, let me know.
I do not recommend
speculatively signing up early and registering months in advance since you would get hit with an at least $50 rescheduling fee in the best case scenario. Highly likely that you will end up paying more as the result. As a reminder, here is the schedule of fees for GMAT (applies to both online and in person versions:
Reschedule Fee Tiers:- 1 to 14 days prior to appointment: $150
- 15 to 60 days prior to appointment: $100
- More than 60 days prior to appointment: $50
Nothing crazy but if you were planning to take the online version of the test in a month or so and were planning sign up for the GMAT Online, you may as well do it.
Good luck
