Hi - I am a 28 YOE first generation immigrant/refugee who flew a communist country. These are my stats:
3.9 GPA - currently completing undergrad. Will graduate by Q2 2023. I’ve been working and studying full time and paying for my own school. Would this be worth mentioning on my essays?
5 years of professional work experience in two different companies/industries. One promotion. My current role is demand planner.
No volunteer experience.
I haven’t taken the GMAT, I’m currently using TTP for prep and my target score is 730.
If I get a +710 GMATS score, would I have a chance to apply to T10 MBA programs?
I’m a first gen immigrant and paid for my own schooling too - kudos to you for being persistent and taking the hard path. If it make sense to mention in your applications, then absolutely mention your experiences. However, don’t force including it because then it comes across as wanting sympathy, which you will get, but no one admits candidates based on sympathy. With a 710 score, you can apply to T10 schools and will be seriously considered if you put together a strong application that speaks to your journey.

I am a colonel retiring soon .. my age is 44 .. will be giving gmat next month.. is it a right decision to go ahead .. what score is expected to be good for me
I’m assuming you are applying for EMBAs right? If so, you may want to consider the EA (check the target schools if they accept it as most do) because it’s easier, and schools are agnostic. Because you have so much more experience than the typical MBA candidate, gaining admission to a traditional MBA program will be difficult

Does low score in IR and AWA in GMAT affect admission? My GMAT score is 680. Going to retake exam.
If the IR and AWA is really low, then it may, but it also depends which programs you are targeting. Definitely a retake is advisable
