Yes, I was confused in option C and E. For C, even if the vinegar was insignificant, still the Hypothesis hold true. And for E, suppose other sweeteners are added, that it may be not because of white vinegar that participants selected the vinegared-cola

How does the hypothesis holds true if participants cannot even taste? With such a negligible quantity how can one tell the differenc?

Participants must differenciate the taste for the hypothesis to hold true

Why should one care about other ingredients? Here we are only talking about white vinegar, we only care if the participants were able to differentiate btw cola with white vinegar and cola without white vinegar

umm, still its not then expectations leads to taste experience, because expectation is (white vinegar as sweet enhancer, on which hyp and experiments hold). But anyways, i see that option C is not correct

Upto some extent even I was little confused initially with option E. But GMAT is all about picking the best one.

Especially in Hard question, they try to trap you from every angle

In a recent experiment about the hypothesis that expectation influences experience of flavor, researchers conducted a taste test with over 200 participants in which each person tasted two versions of a cola beverage, one of which, they were told, contained a “secret taste-enhancing ingredient”. I have a question from focus mock, can anyone help me with it

Jacob: Public funding of the arts is worthwhile for our city because publicly funded art makes the city more attractive to new residents and businesses, thus enhancing the city’s tax base.
Andrew: That argument is misguided. Art’s true value lies in being a profound expression of human nature. Funding art solely in order to reach economic goals debases it by disregarding its intrinsic value.
Based on their statements, Jacob and Andrew most clearly disagree about whether
• a sufficient rationale for public funding of the arts in the city is the potential effects on the city’s tax base
• publicly funding the arts in the city would make the city more attractive to new residents and businesses
• public funding of the arts is likely to be economically worthwhile for the city

Hello guys, just wanted to share my horrible experience with the recent GMAT online ( old version). My exam was supposed to start at 10 am in the morning. My laptop was compatible with all condition they mentioned and I also had a stable, fast internet connection. My proctor tried launching the exam from the secured browser but in vain. We tried for almost an hour. She told me to uninstall some apps from my laptops and I did. Finally around 11 am she called some other expert from GMAC and he also tried for an hour to launch the exam. We uninstalled both of antivirus software I had etc but still exam wasn’t launching. Then he finally launched the exam from Google incognito around 12 pm. Anxiety and stress from this 2 straight hours and trying to mitigate this problem was not less than writing the exam itself. I had lost the peace of mind completely, feeling not good about my fate. I have been preparing for GMAT from 1 year (full time) from EGMAT, GMAT club, Wizako and what not, and this was my first attempt. I have scored 700+ in 5 of the 6 OG mocks, but scored 580 from this online test. A horrible attempt for me. Actually I wanted to leave the exam after the first section itself. But I didn’t loose patience and continued. I have requested GMAC for a fee waiver for an incentre test or may be a deep discount. I don’t know if they are willing to do that or not. But I will give another test from the center this time in another 20 days as I know my ability lies at least around 90 percentile if not 100. Thank you for your patience. Hope this experience of mine may help someone.
