It depends on the level of ownership. If one doesn’t have the time, then one shouldn’t take on more candidates. Simple.
I wouldn’t put the Consultants on that high a pedestal!
Yes, in general the candidate should be more proactive since it’s their application at the end of the day and their career at stake. However, the complete onus shouldn’t be on the candidate either.
Good consultants would follow up a few times if a candidate isn’t pulling their weight and then eventually let it go after a point.
