Hi poojaarora1818

Given the years of experience we recommend targeting executive level programs, but you may want to build up a little bit more leadership experience at work before applying to these programs. Typically the director level is helpful and I want some experience managing others. We would not recommend applying to non-executive programs but you could certainly put some applications out if you would like to try. Wishing you the best of luck!

Best,

Hi Experts,

I am an Indian female with a non-technical background and 10 years of work experience in the HR domain. I want to pursue one year MBA Program in the US. Would my application be considered for the same? Also, is age really a constraint while applying to any regular program especially if you are on the higher side of it?

Please advise.

Thank you so much for your response. But I will be more interested in doing one year MBA program. If, I can showcase in my essays why I need an MBA at this stage. Would my candidacy be considered for the program? And, if I am able to get a 760 Gmat score then my application be considered for a one-year MBA Program? As I have checked with most B-schools like MIT Sloan, Stanford, etc. They require more than 10 years of experience for a one-year program. What do say?? Need your insights.

Thank you!
Pooja

Please respond to my query.

Hello Poojaarora1818,

In response to the 2 main questions you asked,

1. Again, the decision to take a 1-year MBA program is hinged on your post-grad school plans. It is an accelerated version of the 2-year program. A word of advice here is, if you intend to switch careers (say, from Consulting to Investment Banking OR from HR to Tech), it is highly advisable you go for the 2-year program. This would afford you the opportunity to do an internship during the summer of the 1st year in your desired area, thereby giving you a taste of what is to come before you commit full time.

2. Have experience of more than 5 years will not have a negative impact on your application. In any case, your application will be assessed holistically and having more than 5 years is not a disadvantage.
