MyMax is a retail chain of men's casual wear; it is peculiar in that it charges a flat price for any garment of the same type. Hence, the prices of all jackets in the store shall be the same and the prices of all denims in the store shall be the same on any given day. The price of a jacket may, however, differ from the price of a denim. In March'16, Stephano spent $70.70 for buying 7 jackets and the same amount for buying 5 denims. In April'16, MyMax offered flat 20% discount on all apparels so Stephano bought 4 more jackets and 3 more denims.In the first column of the table, select the option that represents the amount spent by Stephano in April'16 on buying jackets at MyMax. In the second column of the table, select the option that represents the amount spent by Stephano in April'16 on buying denims at MyMax. All prices rounded off to the nearest cent. Jacket Price = 70.70/7 = 10.1 $
Denim Price = 70.70/5 = 14.14$
Price of 4 Jackets & 3 Denims on 20% discount:
Jackets = 10.1 - 20%(2$) = 8.1x4 = 32.4$ (Approx)
Denims = 14.14-20%(2.8$) = 11.34x3 = 34$ (Approx)
Jacket Price = 70.70/7 = 10.1 $
Denim Price = 70.70/5 = 14.14$

Question in very simple terms is
Mar 16:
7 jackets could be purchased for 70.70, so 10.10 per jacket while 5 denims also costed the same, so each denim costed 70.70/5 or 14.14
Comes April sale and with that comes 20% discount.
Apr 16:
Per jacket cost becomes 10.10*0.8, so four will cost 10.10*0.8*4 = 10.10*32 = 32.32...
Next, per denim cost becomes 14.14*0.8, so three will cost 14.14*0.8*3 = 14.14*2.4 = 33.94..
